Teknis Ltd was founded in the UK in 1964 to supply the embryonic electronics manufacturing industry with specialist components and test products. Thereafter, our product range expanded with emphasis on ESD Protection Products, Test Probes and Fixtures. As a founder member of BECA (British Electrostatic Control Association) our reputation grew as a key supplier of ESD products and services. With a long standing partnership with WEZ Plastic Industries Ltd, Europe’s prime manufacturer of conductive containers and PCB storage systems, Teknis became known for bespoke handling, storage and distribution products.
In 1998, Teknis acquired Barnard Wilde Manufacturing, a niche manufacturer of conductive foam materials. This gave Teknis total control over the design and manufacture of the specialist inserts that often accompany Wez storage containers, thereby strengthening our ability to offer our customers a bespoke design and manufacturing service.
In 2000, Teknis was sold to the current directors who, with many years of expertise in ESD and supply to the electronics market, have taken the business forward making a further acquisition of TIG Marketing in March 2006. TIG have supplied electronics manufacturing consumables since the early 1990’s. The product range includes Solder Stations, Tips, Tools and thousands of additional essential manufacturing aids offered by our supply partner, Techni-Tool Inc. Teknis are pleased to be working with former TIG customers and additionally by offering the Techni-Tool range to our long established Teknis customers we are helping them rationalise their supplier base, making their purchasing more cost effective.
September 2006 saw Teknis move into our new purpose built manufacturing and storage facility from where we will further support our current customers and welcome new ones!
