Charge plate monitors are important tools in Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control programmes because they evaluate the performance of ionisation systems used to neutralise static charges. A charge plate monitor works by charging a conductive plate to a known voltage and measuring the time taken for the voltage to decay as ions neutralise the charge.
